GPS TRANSIT LINES
Without a GPS, life can be hard to navigate
GPS Transit Lines operate as structured pathways to safety by guiding participants through art-based routes that connect them to support, healing, and positive opportunities. Each transit line represents a creative discipline—such as music, culinary arts, film, podcasting, fashion and design, writing, photography, and barbering—serving as an entry point where individuals can engage, build trust, and move away from violence, isolation, and instability. Like a real transit system, the lines create direction, connection, and access, helping participants travel from high-risk environments toward safe spaces, caring relationships, emotional support, skill-building, and long-term personal growth.

- At TIME SQUARE MUSIC, participants engage in music-based activities such as songwriting, beat creation, lyric development, and collaborative recording sessions. Music becomes a powerful tool for emotional expression, allowing participants to translate personal experiences, challenges, and aspirations into rhythm and sound. Through guided workshops and group collaboration, participants learn how to channel emotions constructively while building confidence in their creative voice.

- Culinary Ave is a creative pathway within the ARTSAVE program that introduces youth and young adults to the art, culture, and career opportunities within the culinary world. This avenue provides participants with hands-on learning experiences in food preparation, kitchen safety, nutrition awareness, and culinary creativity while encouraging discipline, teamwork, and responsibility.

45TH & FASHION CIRCLE
- Film Street Noir is a creative storytelling pathway within the ARTSAVE program that introduces youth and young adults to the art of film, visual storytelling, and media production. This avenue encourages participants to explore their voices through cinematic expression while learning the fundamentals of filmmaking, including scriptwriting, directing, camera work, editing, and visual storytelling.

BROOKLYN STREET GROOMING STATION
45TH & FASHION CIRCLE
- At 45TH & FASHION CIRCLE, participants explore self-expression through fashion design, styling, and visual presentation. Workshops focus on understanding how clothing, culture, and personal style can communicate identity and confidence. Participants may design outfits, create mood boards, or develop fashion concepts that reflect personal stories and cultural influences. This station encourages creativity while helping participants strengthen self- image and personal identity.

BROOKLYN STREET GROOMING STATION
- At PODCAST JUNCTION, participants learn how to create podcasts and digital audio content that highlight personal stories, social issues, and community perspectives. Participants are introduced to recording equipment, interview techniques, and storytelling formats. Through podcast creation, participants gain confidence in public speaking and develop media literacy while amplifying their voices and experiences.

- The Brooklyn Street Grooming Station is a barbering-focused engagement track within the ARTSAVE Transit Model that introduces participants to the art and discipline of professional grooming. At this station, participants learn foundational barbering skills such as hair cutting techniques, beard grooming, sanitation practices, and client interaction.

- Photographic Circle is a creative pathway within the ARTSAVE program that introduces youth and young adults to the art of photography as a form of storytelling, self-expression, and community documentation. Through this avenue, participants learn the fundamentals of photography, including composition, lighting, framing, and visual narrative.
- Participants explore how images can capture emotion, culture, and everyday life while developing technical skills with cameras and digital editing tools. Photographic Circle encourages participants to see their environment through a creative lens, transforming ordinary moments into meaningful visual stories.

- Writer’s Block is a reflective and expressive pathway within the ARTSAVE program that encourages youth and young adults to explore writing as a tool for personal expression, emotional healing, and storytelling. This avenue introduces participants to creative writing, journaling, poetry, spoken word, and narrative development.
- Participants develop their voices through written language. Writing becomes a safe outlet for processing experiences, building confidence in communication, and developing creative thinking.
- Writer’s Block helps participants strengthen literacy skills, critical thinking, and emotional awareness while encouraging them to share their perspectives and stories. Within the ARTSAVE transit model, Writer’s Block represents a creative station where ideas, reflection, and imagination are transformed into words that inspire, heal, and empower.
